Lately, I have been trying to get out of the house as much as possible. Especially, since I live in the French Alps which is a bit far out. I have been trying to spend as much time next to the coast to enjoy the beaches nearby. I have been missing the beaches all school year long and have forgotten how beautiful California’s beaches truly are. The salty breeze, the sound of waves crashing, and the sun shining brightly on the warm sand, and people just lounging all over the place by the clear ocean water. Over the weekend, I was able to go snorkeling in La Jolla Cove. Shockingly, even though I have lived in California most of my life I never have been able to snorkel. It was absolutely amazing, sea lions were swimming by and the fish were so vibrant. I am so sad, I have gone all my life living in California missing the beauty right in front of me!
For the first time, I have met so many new people. I’m actually liking it. When I was little, I was uncomfortable having to go and meet new people. Over time, I learn to enjoy meeting new people with different personalities and have been fortunate on making great friends all over the world. It’s this open door of different styles and tastes and personalities all churning in the summer air. I actually want to talk to random strangers now and actually meet new people. It’s like a book ready to be opened, ready to read and understand, ready to see their perspective of life. I probably have said this many times – go and smell the roses and you may just find a huge surprise!
